Croatia

Croatia has a perfect, central EU location, and is well connected with other European and world countries by air, land and sea. It is a small country with the population of roughly 4.3 million people, out of which 1 million people live in the capital city, Zagreb. Although it is a small country, Croatia is classified as an open and developing economy by the International Monetary Fund and a high income economy by the World Bank. With its rich historical heritage, natural beauty and a pleasant climate, it was ranked as 18th most popular tourist destination in the world, well known for its crystal clear sea, glistening beaches and 10 UNESCO cultural and natural World Heritage sites. In fact, Croatian scenery is so breath-taking that many Hollywood blockbusters were shot here. The most famous one is Dubrovnik as a filming location of the Game of Thrones.
Croatia is also the land of innovators and home to world-famous inventions such as: neck tie (kravata), ball-point pen (Penkalape ) ,  alternating electrical current (Tesla), electricaltransformers, power lines, fingerprinting forensic method, torpedo, parachute and many others. The most popular sport in the country is football. Croatia took the national team to third place at the 1998 World Cup and the final at the 2018 World Cup.
Croatia is also one of the safest countries in the world, according to The Global Peace Index 2020 produced by the Institute for Economics and Peace.

Zagreb

Zagreb is the cultural, scientific, economic, political and administrative center of the Republic of Croatia, and is home to the Croatian Parliament, Government and President. It enjoys a rich cultural life, with many theatres, museums, galleries and festivals. Right in the city center, parks, streets and squares intersect with green spaces and gardens, in the so called “green horseshoe” shape. One of the most popular is Zrinjevac, known for its row of plane trees brought in from Trieste more than a century ago. Nearby nestles another green oasis, the Botanical Gardens, containing one of the most splendid plant collections in Europe, with some 10,000 varieties.
